This post is part of my ongoing series of writing down my thoughts on the Bible passages I read each day. Some days I hope to have great insight that the Lord gives me, and many days, I will likely struggle through the text and not know what to write down based on what I read. My hope and prayer is that as I make this a habit, just as I did daily writing for so long, that I will improve on my ability to read and understand the passages I’m reading. Please keep in mind that many of these posts may be published late at night or with little time studying and simply be my first thoughts after reading. This is in no way a commentary that one should use to discern the Bible, but my own personal thoughts.

This is the part that I’m most excited about going through the Bible chronologically. We see the outside circumstances that are affecting David’s life, and then we see him writing his inward feelings and thoughts about it.

The Psalms are always good chapters to read, but it gives them an extra layer of meaning when we’re able to see them in the context of what David was going through in his life when they were written.

In these chapters, we go through a lot of life for David. He goes from being a shepherd boy to playing music for the king to going off to battle to winning insane battles he never should have one, getting a wife, the king trying to kill him, etc. There is a lot happening in David’s life and how blessed are we to have the privilege of seeing his inward thoughts as all these things are happening.
