I saw a blurb the other day that said something to the effect of “People talk about how if they went back in time and changed the smallest thing it could have a dramatic impact on the world today, but those same people rarely think the biggest change they make now will have any impact on the future world.”

It made me think about how, first of all, we are pretty thoughtless in some of our thinking. Almost hypocritical, but that doesn’t sound right. We have a way of thinking about things from one angle but never even considering what it may look like from another angle.

Specifically, in the present situation, I think about the massive impact one person has had on our world. The entire world is in shut-down mode, and that happened from one person. Some unsuspecting person at a fish market in Wuhan, China (allegedly), began something that now has changed the entire world as we know it.

People will say all the time things to the effect of “I’m only one vote,” or “what difference does it make if one person is for it?” But they miss that it’s a huge deal. The impact one person can have on the world is humongous, and sometimes they may never even know they’ve impacted the world in the way they think they have.

How much more important to be living for a God outside of this world. God knows what can be used to impact the world and if we’re completely open to what he wants us to do and obey Him, how easy would it be for him to use us to change the entire world?

You may never know how you have changed the world, but if you’re faithful in what God has for you, that’s enough right there.
