The past week of working remotely has been the most productive week of remote work I have ever had. I’ve also been much more intentional about ending work at a specific time because I’ve had activities going on each evening.

It’s been both extremely nice traveling while working so that I have fun stuff to do each evening, but it’s also been harder. I’m used to vacations where I have freedom the entire day and now I have only the hours before and after work.

I’ve decided, however, that I may like this kind of vacation more. While I don’t have all the free hours and relaxation from not working, it’s nice having purpose while still having some freedom.

It’s also nice knowing that I’m doing what I need to do to sustain myself ( you know, working a job making money and stuff) while still vacationing. I’ve got the best of both worlds.

I am legitimately excited to be back in my office in Austin. While freedom has been incredible and I’ve had a fantastic time, I’m ready to get back into the normal flow of things and feel like I’m not just “keeping up,” but actually moving forward past my goals.

Vacation while working isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, but it’s also not bad. I’ll let you make your own decision if you get the opportunity to do it. Let me know your thoughts on it.
