Remote Pro

Level Twenty Three Stats

Weapons gained:

  • Connections + 4: Had a pretty important meeting with one of our clients this week. Someone I’ve been trying to get in touch with for months and finally go the meeting. So, quantity wasn’t there this week on connections, but quality was.
  • Ability + 8: I’m once again going to mention remote work here. This week I really felt like was the breakthrough I needed to be able to tell myself I could work remotely from anywhere with an internet connection and be fine. I learned how to structure my days and deal with some of the distractions that don’t normally have at the office. Fantastic week. Two more remote days.
  • Knowledge + 10: Really can’t pin down all of the specifics, but this week I felt bombarded with knowledge intake. Both from our customers and from my fellow employees and bosses. Always learning in a role is a cool place to be and I am definitely still in the thick of it.
  • Discipline + 2: Very excited to be back in the office next week as I think I can really start improving in the discipline area. Not that I can’t now, but being on the road has proved very difficult to keep any sort of organized schedule.
  • Organization + 6: Once again, tying back into remote work, I think this week I was really able to see improvement in being able to organize my schedule and day while being out of the office.
  • Strength – 4: Really out of this one. I’m committing to getting back in after I get back to Austin, but just almost impossible traveling so much.

Kills: The first thing I mentioned under connections was my biggest kill this week. Been working on getting that meeting for a couple of months and it was great to get it in.

Deaths: Had a really rough Thursday. Lots of issues causing lots of complaints from my customers. Hard wanting to help them and only being able to do so much.

Outside the Game

I’ve been in South Carolina most of this week. It’s been hard being in a place that I want to get out and explore and visit but having to work. At the same time, it’s great the freedom to be working in a place I have no connection with besides a couple of people.

A huge freedom that I’m enjoying very much.

Final Takeaways

Had the full range of good days and bad days this week with work. I think being back in the office will bring a little more consistency back into the schedule and this will help mellow the days out.

I’m excited for my time this weekend in SC and I’m also excited to be back in the office. Bittersweet.
