This post is part of my ongoing series of writing down my thoughts on the Bible passages I read each day. Some days I hope to have great insight that the Lord gives me, and many days, I will likely struggle through the text and not know what to write down based on what I read. My hope and prayer is that as I make this a habit, just as I did daily writing for so long, that I will improve on my ability to read and understand the passages I’m reading. Please keep in mind that many of these posts may be published late at night or with little time studying and simply be my first thoughts after reading. This is in no way a commentary that one should use to discern the Bible, but my own personal thoughts.

“He who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.

No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength.”

As I read through these Psalms, sometimes it’s easy to feel the separation between God and man. Talking about the greatness of God is something that is important for all of us to realize. We are to ascribe to God the worth that He is due. All of our glory and praise. However, this reminds me the relationship between God and man. God is so intricately involved in our lives, and nothing can happen without him.

“Man is a mere phantom as he goes to and fro: He bustles about, but only in vain; he heaps up wealth not going who will get it.”

The temporariness of our life is certain. It breaks to my heart to think that most people in this world live as if this is truly their only life. When in reality, this life is but a vapor. There are so few things in this life that actually matter, and it is only the things that affect our future life.

If the things you are doing are not focused on what matters eternally, you should perhaps consider what you are putting your focus on.
