Most people I talk to will often talk about several books that they are currently reading.

For me, someone who struggles to read books at all, the thought of reading multiple books at the same time is baffling to me. I’ve posted before how when I’m committed to something, I’m fully committed. I will work straight through the night to get something I’m done. I almost enjoy it, even.

However, once that night is over, or I take a break from whatever project I’m working on, my motivation is completely gone. It’s extremely difficult to start working on that project again. I will finish it in one night or it’s over.

It seems a similar attention span for me that causes me to only be reading one book at a time. Same with podcasts or audiobooks. I will listen through or read through the whole book, but I can’t just swap over to another book and instantly be interested in that.

I’m all in. But please don’t make me be all in on different things at the same time. I’m not sure it’s possible.
