There’s a normal mentality, in the US at least, to hate Monday’s and love Friday’s. I’ve talked before about how I don’t hate Monday’s, it’s simply another day in the week. At the time I wrote the blog post, I was working on a lot of side projects outside of work, so Monday really did feel just like another day. I was just working and getting paid for it on Monday.

I still don’t hate Mondays, but they do look different from what they looked like then. And they look drastically different from my weekends too. I’ve talked before about how I love the change in seasons. For that reason, I do love Friday’s. I love having a break from what I’ve been doing at work and getting to spend time with my family, friends, sports, etc. I love changing it up.

It’s not that I hate my job and what I do for 40+ hours a week, I just love doing a variety of things. I honestly think that if I didn’t work for a month straight I wouldn’t like that very much either. I like having time to really focus in on something and I like having time to relax or really go after something else.

If you find yourself loving Fridays because you hate your week, that’s a dangerous place to be, and at the risk of giving unsolicited advice, you should strongly evaluate either the job you’re in or the headspace you’re in.

At the end of the day, the reason you love each day has to come from outside the day itself. It can’t be dependant on anything in this world or it will always let you down. Love Friday’s because there’s variety in life and there’s a creator who clearly loves variety.
