Do you think that deer ever get nervous days before they do something? Like they know they’re going to have to go through this old pasture several days before they do,so they’re stressing over it?

I know there are animals that can have prolonged stress, and it seems such an interesting emotion to be so wide spread. I don’t know enough about zoology to know what percentage of animals have stress, or what percent have prolonged stress, but we could probably be busy studying stress for the rest of time in just one creation – humans.

I think everyone’s experienced the dreaded “can we talk.” Whether it be from a parent, a friend, a significant other, teacher, boss, etc. As soon as it happens, the heart starts racing and your mind works to keep up too. “What do they want to talk about? Did I do something wrong? Are they upset at me? What is every thing I’ve done in the last year?”

This kind of stress can weigh heavily on someone’s mind to the point their physical usefulness also goes out the window because their mental start is so jarred.

Some people do experience stress from real things that come up. The example above being one. But others can experience a kind of stress that doesn’t seem to be brought by anything in particular. You just have it. Often times, this stress would be labeled more as anxiety. A nervousness for (seemingly) no reason.

Many people struggle with this. Males, females, people of faith, people without it, black, white, Asian, etc. No one is exempt. We all have the capability for nervousness. So when that nervousness comes, what do you have to lean on? Your own confidence that you think things will be alright, even if you can’t see it? A significant other who can help bare the brunt of it?

When you use things in this world to try and solve problems in this world, those things will almost always have either side effects or an extra cost. However, when you allow something outside the world to help, it allows you to truly let go of that thing or that feeling that you don’t know what to do with. That doesn’t mean that it won’t affect you, but it means that even when it does, you’re able to have confidence that your ultimate comfort is in something else, not even in your emails.

That thing outside of this world to lean on? Not an original idea, that’s God. And there’s a book about him. 66 into one actually. You’d do yourself well, whether you deal with anxiety or not, to read that book and see what else there is to say.
