You’d think after being homeschooled, not going to college, doing an apprenticeship program, etc. I would remember that the best way to learn is from people actually out there doing the work that you want to do.

Today I was so refreshed hearing from some goers who are on the field in Southeast Asia. Hearing real-life failures and real-life successes was so refreshing for me to hear. They’ve been on the field for 28 years, and some of those years were extremely fruitful for them, others it was almost unbearably rough, but they persevered with the help of God…or maybe I should say, they were weak, but God was strong.

You know that some of the challenges they went through were huge when during one of their stories she offhandedly mentions while looking at some pictures on the slideshow, “Oh yeah. This was when I had cancer for while,” *next slide*.

It’s important to remember that ministry has ups and downs, and just like sales, sometimes you’re going to have to live on the downs till you get an up. It’s not for the impatient or the faint of heart. Ministry takes time. Building gospel communities takes time. Building relationships take time.

It’s so valuable for me to get a perspective from these seasoned goers on how to prepare and learn while on the field.

The harvest is ready, time to learn from the laborers how they’re doing it and how you might be able to copy.
