When you’re in a good conversation, it’s hard to stop. These often hit outside the hours you might choose.

Many good conversations have been happening recently causing my schedule to be thrown off. Usually these conversations are worth it for me to lose a little sleep, but you also have to understand when you need to set boundaries.

I’m willing to sacrifice more sleep than most for a good conversation or to be with good people, but I have to keep in mind what this affects in my life. If I do it one night, my work day will probably be fine the next day. Once you start sacrificing sleep for multiple days however you start to affect not only yourself but others around you.

Boundaries are important. They can be hard to enforce when you want to continue conversation, but you have to understand the long term good over short term pleasure.
