Playing competitive sports is one of my favorite things to do.

Having an opportunity to both work my body and have fun at the same time is a no brainer to me. Doing it with other people who I love is even one step further.

When I was first introduced to ultimate frisbee about 10 years ago, I loved the sport. I see now that one of the reasons I love it so much is that you can play it from almost any skill level and have fun. Even if you suck at throwing, you can run for the disc and try to get open. Even if you suck at catching you can play some sweet defense.

This weekend, I played with an old hodgepodge of guys from the Wichita area in a tournament at K-State. The team is filled with guys in their late 20s and 30s. I was the second youngest on the team.

This tournament is one of fun and competitiveness.

We went on a 6-0 run against with the rest of the competition and lost to K-Sate Alum in the champion game.

We lost the last game. But that’s what’s fun.

Ultimate has been a great place to meet people over the last 10 years meeting people at tournaments is one of my favorite things.
