I’ve never been very interested in learning a lot about my ancestry. Not because I don’t think it’s fascinating, but because it wasn’t worth the work to me to look it up.

It’s become easier and easier these days to look up ancestry. With the online sites and ways to submit DNA. Unfortunately, there will always be a part of history and genealogy that will be lost in history.

It’s crazy to think about if genealogy was tracked from the beginning. Everyone could track their way back to Noah in the Bible. See which countries they came from. Who had royalty, who didn’t.

It’s fascinating to think about really. How would the world look different? In some ways, we may think this would be cool, but it may also make the world much more divided. Those with bad heritage would find it more difficult to get on the “good” side of the line because everyone would treat them as if they were responsible for the things their ancestors did.

It’s odd to think that if you go back in your family line 7 generations and find a person, your life literally wouldn’t have been possible without that person. Everything they did in their life somehow contributed to you being alive looking back at them now.

Also to think that that same person may be responsible for another thousand people on this earth that you don’t even know exist.

I would love to see a huge family tree someday when I go to Heaven. Have some time to study it.
