This post is part of my ongoing series of writing down my thoughts on the Bible passages I read each day. Some days I hope to have great insight that the Lord gives me, and many days, I will likely struggle through the text and not know what to write down based on what I read. My hope and prayer is that as I make this a habit, just as I did daily writing for so long, that I will improve on my ability to read and understand the passages I’m reading. Please keep in mind that many of these posts may be published late at night or with little time studying and simply be my first thoughts after reading. This is in no way a commentary that one should use to discern the Bible, but my own personal thoughts.

I got a couple days behind on my reading, so then I didn’t want to write the last couple days. I also had some other interesting thoughts on my head that had me feeling like writing those down instead of this.

I leave these many Psalms with just a couple of quotes that stuck out to me:

Psalm 35:3 “Say to my soul I am your salvation”

This is David’s prayer to God. To help him know in his own soul that God is his way out of trouble. It reminds me that these prayers are a good thing. When we are going through tough seasons or doubtful seasons, it is good to come before God and ask Him to remind you of what he has done for you. It is easy for us to forget, so why not ask God to remind us?

Psalm 125:2 “As the mountains around Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people, from this time forth and forevermore.”

This is a cool verse that sounds like a verse of protection. Satan can do anything he wants to us. He can pull a Job and destroy all the things on the world that we love, he can take our health away, heck, he could even take our lives away. He can take almost everything away. But one thing he can’t take over is our eternal destiny.

How exciting that no matter what Satan does, that only draws us closer to our true lover. Jesus Christ.
