This post is part of my ongoing series of writing down my thoughts on the Bible passages I read each day. Some days I hope to have great insight that the Lord gives me, and many days, I will likely struggle through the text and not know what to write down based on what I read. My hope and prayer is that as I make this a habit, just as I did daily writing for so long, that I will improve on my ability to read and understand the passages I’m reading. Please keep in mind that many of these posts may be published late at night or with little time studying and simply be my first thoughts after reading. This is in no way a commentary that one should use to discern the Bible, but my own personal thoughts.

I’ve titled this section of Exodus (along with many of the following chapters “God Cares.”

God gives instruction on the smallest pieces of construction on this tent and ark that he’s having his people build. It’s a reminder to me as I’m reading that God cares about everything down to the chair/couch/bed you’re reading this on (or floor if you’re standing).

It’s easy to feel a disconnect between things like our job and God. Like they are two separate parts of our lives. Even when we want them to connect more, it can be hard to pull them into each other. However, God cares so much about your job. He cares about what your heart looks like when you’re working, just like he cares at every other time.

If God cares so much to dedicate chapters of the bible to how something should be constructed, He cares enough to pay attention to you at all times. Even if that’s just when you lost your wallet and you need some help.

If nothing else as you come away from these chapters, it seems pretty obvious that God cares about good workmanship and beauty. How can we express that in our own work and projects that we do?
