Tomorrow I will likely pick up my normal posting on what I’m reading in scripture, but today, I had quite a few other things on my mind.

I’ve been thinking about friendships and the analogy of relationships with others being similar to the rings of an onion. When you first get to know someone, it’s like the outside of an onion that you have a lot of similarities to. As you cut into each layer, you get to know even more parts that you have similarities to.

But as you get really deep, you start to find all the differences you have also. You then have the option to use those differences to help each other and learn from each other, or it can drive you further apart.

Everyone at their core has some of the same root desires and fears, it’s just about uncovering it.
