In the season of polarity we seem to find ourselves in at the end of this year 2020, it’s hard to balance when we do things for justified reasons, and when we do them to make sure that others don’t perceive said things as wrong or bad.

There are many things that we may be convicted of (or not) but because there are so many people that have an opposing viewpoint to the extent that if you do the thing you would normally do, you may be seen as evil in the eyes of others. You would not only be seen as doing something different from what they like or even agree with, but it would be as if you yourself were hurting these people because of their actions.

The problem with this is that there is now so much information constantly being thrown at us, it’s hard to decipher what’s real and what’s not. Both sides will call the other side’s information “fake news” and pretend to be experts in the act of research, but who’s really right? How can you have experts in the field at the highest level have disagreements on something?

It sure seems that if you have high-level experts that disagree on an issue, you as a layman are not going to be able to scientifically prove one way or the other. You may have strong convictions on something, but you can’t prove that you’re right.

Because of this, I wish that we could stop doing the things we do to make a certain side happy or unhappy. It causes so many to be in a constant state of anxiety not wanting to offend anyone because they truly love others.

I generally do not like the when people say “why don’t we just love”, because it’s generally in the context of turning a blind eye at people doing things that I know for a fact are life and death issues (usually spiritual vs physical). But in the case of doing things that are clearly not spiritual life and death issues, can we calm down on the judgment on issues that you don’t know the full scope of? Definitely have convictions in your own life, and even feel free to share those with others, but if it’s not a matter of spiritual life and death, why are you fighting so hard for it?
