When in a relationship, many people dread the occasion when they are to meet the relatives of their significant other. Whether it be their parents, their crazy aunt and uncle, their millions of cousins, etc.
Perhaps I’ve got the luck of the draw, or maybe it’s my personality, but I actually love to meet my girlfriend’s family and friends. In general, though, I am someone who loves first, and sometimes even second interactions. I love to ask questions and get to know people. Everyone has so much story to tell and I’m about hearing it.
Especially as people are older. Parent and grandparent age, they have much more life and experience to pull from. I know some people have terrible experiences with in-laws, but today I am thankful for being able to meet new people and that they are close to someone who is close to me! Built in friendships!
