If you knew someone who was kicked out of their house because they didn’t believe the same religion their parents did and they came to you and asked if they could stay at your house, would you say yes?

Almost anybody would say yes to this. With qualifications, of course.

How long are they going to stay here? Will they leave the house during the day when I leave? Are they working or trying to find a job? Etc.

Even as we decide to help others, we often have to weigh the pros and cons and the realisticness of being able to help someone. Is it something we can do long-term or is it something that we can do for a short time, but we can get connected with someone who can be long-term?

When you’re put in these kinds of situations, it forces you to challenge your own pessimism or optimism. What are your inward thoughts and what are you willing to give up to help someone out?

There are, and will always be deciding factors into every decision you will ever make.
