Establishing rhythms is one of the greatest things you can do fro your personal development and discipline, but something that I’ve realized you have to be aware of is that rhythms are just that. Rhythm is defined as a strong, regular, repeated pattern (Usually music related). Music-related

Repeated. When you repeat something, that becomes a habit. It becomes something that is consistent.

I heard a conductor say one time that instead of the popular phrase “practice makes perfect” he believed a much more suiting quote would be “practice makes permanent”.

Because however you practice, whatever rhythms you get into, that is what you will be lead to do most of the time. There’s no reason why those things have to be good things, and often, the rhythms people talk less about are the destructive ones that they constantly do without realizing because they’ve done them so long.

Rhythms CAN be very healthy and good to maintain. But don’t be deceived into thinking that just because you have a routine it’s good for you. The right routine is good for you, not all routines are.
