At 11am this morning, I was canoeing down a freezing cold river in the Alaska interior. Over 20 miles in under 5 hours.

At 11am AK time tomorrow morning, I’m going to be in Austin TX, probably shopping for groceries for the week. The transportation abilities of the world today is incredible. To be in one of the more remote places in the world and in less than 24 hours, be in the fastest growing city in the US.

Someone 150 years ago couldn’t have barely done the same thing in months. We are so spoiled with our ability to get away and go wherever we want. It’s been halted in a small way by COVID, but in general, we are so much more free than any other generation before us.

Don’t take travel for granted.
