When asked this question, does your mind default to your physical achievements, or do you think in terms of personal characteristics that you’ve attained?

Talking on the phone with my girlfriend today, I asked her this question, and her answer was such an exciting answer, that I think points much to the reason that we are together.

Instead of her answer being about some crowning achievement (which she has plenty of, believe me), but instead, it was about an area of her life that she was weak in. Or more correctly, an area of her life that by herself, she was weak in.

What she said was her biggest accomplishment wasn’t something she had done at all, it was how God had been able to use her, even in her weakness to love and care about others. There was much more to the conversation, but it made me realize the truth in this answer.

Nothing that we do in this world amounts to anything. We could have all the PHD’s in the world, but without Christ, it means nothing. “For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?”

When I think more on the question, it makes me realize that the accomplishments I have attained have genuinely only come because of Christ in my life, and many of them have specifically been where I am weak.

What is your biggest accomplishment?
