I just had a conversation with a guy who has several kids and is debating a career change. Something that might be a hard decision as a young adult becomes an impossible decision when you have a family to provide for.

When people are young, it seems there’s often pressure on them to make a decision on what they want to do for the rest of their life. But if you take this pressure when you’re young and make a decision before you’re sold on it, you can end up committing time to something you may not want to in the long run.

I’m not saying that you shouldn’t make decisions when you’re young, simply that you should be careful about the long-term effects of those decisions. The perks of being young is that the world is open to you.

It’s important to not think too highly of yourself when you’re young. You can risk doing things and working jobs that an older you may never want but that will give experience to that later you.
