There seems to be a stigma around people who “post stuff just to get likes.”

In a conversation with a friend today she made me realize how backward we have gotten as a society – really, as human beings. The whole reason we have like buttons is to show that you like something. People say “she only posts that to get more likes.” But it makes me wonder why anyone ever posts?

Are there some people out there intentionally posting because they hope that none of their followers like their post?

It may be extreme, but that seems the equivalent to me of a kid who keeps doing annoying things around other people and not getting the hint when no one encourages him or tells him good job.

Why not post stuff to get likes? Should you get your identity from the likes? No. Is that why most people say that it’s a bad thing to post for likes? Most likely.

But at the end of the day, yes, post what you want to, what is important to you, but don’t feel like a bad person for posting stuff that other people like.

It’s so weird to me that things have gotten to the point where you are almost called a bad person if you post something just for others to like it.

Let’s make the like button great again.
