A year ago I posted about a yearly tradition that we have had for over 5 years. Ultimate frisbee on New Year’s Day. A tradition that started January 1st, 2014.

Gathering people together to play a sport no matter the weather.

Last year, in single-digit weather, it scared some people off and I was afraid we wouldn’t have the numbers. This year, the weather was almost 50 degrees. Still cold in the wind but overall beautiful weather.

Last year we had just over 21 people show up. This year, over 40 showed up. We doubled our number from last year. It felt so good to have something to unite over going into the new year and just have a good time.

As we all look to the future and what changes we can make to better ourselves and the lives of those around us, it’s nice to have something that we can all do to remind us of our history together.

It’s been a great day full of love and fun. I can’t think of a better way to go into 2020.
