If you were to judge yourself on a scale of 1-10 on how spontaneous you are, 1 meaning “if it’s not planned two weeks in advance and with a Google calendar invite,” then it’s not happening, 10 meaning “if you force me to plan my day tomorrow the world is literally going to fall apart because I don’t know what I”m going to want to do then,” where would you put yourself?

There are other factors that go into this. For instance, I don’t mind planning some things and tend to be the planner in my group of friends. However, when it comes down to the moment of, if someone wants to do something crazy, like run the last 6 miles to the apartment instead of getting an Uber, I will be the first to volunteer to go with them.

I like plans, but I almost like the plans so that there’s less pressure and an easy way to make new plans.

Spontaneity is a huge part of life. Anything can be taken to the extreme, and spontaneity is no exception, but having the ability to work on the fly and deliver results quickly is a very valuable skill set that can be used inside and outside the market.
