The tendency for many is to work at a lower level of output when they get toward the end of something. Whether this be the end of their time at a certain company or even the end of their shift at work.
If all you care about is getting your check, then this is a great attitude. No one cares because they all want to go home too.
However, being the one that works hard on all of their projects even at the end of the day will make you stand out so much from the rest of the people. It’s one thing putting in the extra mile during the day when that’s more expected, but doing it at the end is something people will call you crazy for.
I’m taking most of next week off of work. I worked hard and completed everything I possibly could for everyone before I left and I was by far the last one to leave the office.
Get in the mindset of not going after the check, but going after your personal growth. Often, the times you can grow most are those times where you work a little bit harder and stay a little later than everyone else.
