How many social media bios do you see that look something like: “God, family, church, friends, work. In that order”

I don’t like to look at life like this. With different layers. There shouldn’t be layers to our life. Or at least as Christians there shouldn’t be layers to our life.

Instead of saying God, then family, then church…etc. What if we lived more along the lines of God. God alone. And through Him, everything else.

No layers. A life fully focused on Him. Does that mean you don’t love anything else? Does it mean you shouldn’t care about anyone in life and have no aspirations?

Of course not. Instead, by having your mind fully focused on Him, these other things will naturally be cared for. What if you don’t purposefully make categories to divide your thoughts and energy into the things you care about.

What if you could focus on the one thing that matters the most? What if by focusing on that one thing that matters the most you would find energy to use that to focus on other things?

What if you put away the arbitrary levels on the things in your life and just start living? What if you focused on the things above and let that guide you where you need to go?

Before you start layering the cake of life, maybe you should make the cake batter has all the right ingredients…and with that I’m done trying to stretch this topic out into any other weird analogies.
