I am currently on a backpacking trip in Wyoming. Potentially without service. This is one of the first weeks where I feel like I legitimately need a weekend in the mountains to get away from work.
I often have the desire to go and get out from the business of life, but this is one of the first times that I felt like I actually NEED it. Stressful times at a software company pouring over a screen…not the best when you absolutely love the outdoors.
This post is scheduled, so it is likely that right now I am looking up at a mountain in the background and am busy making a fire at our camping spot.

Getting off the grid is an important part of my work. If I don’t get it I get worn down at my job. I’m blessed in the role I’m in, but I have a desire to involve myself in lots of outside activities. If I can’t do this, my morale level goes down greatly.
