The other three posts that I’ve made in this series of friends have all been fairly positive. Some quirks that aren’t perfect, since no one’s perfect and stuff, but mostly good.

Unfortunately, not all friends fit into the good and positive mold of friendship. There are the people who you can’t stand regardless of what they do.

Friend: *does nothing*

Friend: *Still does nothing*

You: “WOULD YOU JUST SHUT UP AND DIE!”

They are irritating and there isn’t necessarily a reason why. You almost feel bad that you hate them, but you hate them too much to think about that.

The “Did they do that again” friend is a little different though (usually).

This is the person who isn’t specifically disliked by individuals, they just make things awkward and uncomfortable. If you have a party at your house, they will be the last one to leave, and they will take 20 minutes to get their shoes on to actually get out your door.

They take being uninhibited to a whole new level, but not like the “Let’s Go” friend. They do things that are awkward and often serve no purpose.

They will sit and touch their feet with their hands while you have a conversation with them inside a house with a group of people. They’ll often sit out of games because they want to experience things to the fullest and don’t want to be bogged down by playing only one game. They want the freedom to be themselves.

This friend will be hard. A couple of people really latch onto them, but most treat them fine but talk badly about them when they leave. It’s okay that you don’t enjoy spending time with them, just don’t also tear them down when they’re gone. Some personalities just aren’t quite as compatible.

And some (like this one) are downright annoying.

Try and understand more of what the “did they do that again” friend is thinking and doing so you can see if you relate in any areas, but if not, it’s okay not to hang out with them every minute of every day.
