Sometimes, life just likes to slap you in the face.

My unending journey in a world of technology that hates me has continued.

As I was chatting on the phone with one of my friends this evening, I pulled my phone cord out of something it was caught in, and it somehow drug the cord in between the outlet and the plug, thus resulting in a power surge that threw the breaker for the whole house.

Everything died.

My Bluetooth speaker, my phone, and my laptop.

They all just went black and stopped making noise.

After jumping about three feet in the air because of the fireball the surge threw in the air, I just sat in pitch blackness wondering what the heck had just happened.

I slowly started putting two and two together and realized what must have happened. A power surge.

Thankfully my laptop turned right on afterward, but my phone did not seem to survive. I tried everything I know to try and fix it or at least turn it back on but nothing worked.

I am once again with no phone. This isn’t the first time, nor is it the second or third time something like this has happened. Each time it’s a good reminder and wakeup call with how much I depend on it and each time it’s at a very inconvenient time. This time I’ll admit is maybe one of the better times. But still, it’s probably going to have to be sent off and I’ll be without a phone for maybe a week.

All this to say, I’ve been tested so much with having technology that malfunctions and you’d think that I’d be used to it by now, but no. I’m very much not.

Am I thankful my laptop didn’t explode? Yes. That is obviously preferable. But it’s going to be rough for awhile not having a phone.

Technology is great and all but sometimes it’s the most annoying thing in the world.

My 1st world problem issue rant is over.
