I closed my first deal today.

It kind of happened accidentally. I’m not really working on any deals right now in my role because my focus is more on customers we already have and keeping them happy.

I was talking to a potential customer and just trying to explain as best I could the prices for the different packages we offer and what all is included in them.

I asked questions to find out what they needed and what they didn’t and was able to help her figure out which package level might really help solve her problems.

She picked the most expensive package level.

Was it because I’m the best salesman? Absolutely not. In fact I’m probably a terrible salesman at this point.

I simply just asked questions and listened to what her problems were and tried to pair her with the value we can create to solve those problems.

The value outweighed the cost and she sent me an email out of the blue:

“Thanks so much! Let’s go with the Complete Package.”

Her questions were answered and she was ready to buy.

Selling can happen, even if you’re not a salesman.
