How would you eat a sandwich?

One bite at a time.

How would you read a book?

One word at a time.

How would you run a marathon?

One step at a time.

How do you dial a phone number?

One button at a time.

How would you film a movie?

One shot at a time.

How would you shingle a house?

One nail at a time.

How would you learn Rachmaninoff’s piano concerto?

One note at a time.

How would you become a professional at a new skill?

Skip all the steps and instantly be good…

If you’re like me, when you can’t understand a new software or idea right away, or you aren’t good at a sport right away, you instantly get annoyed that you can’t keep up with the pros.

I’m a great walker now due to much time trying and failing at a young age.

I’m a decent pianist now because of little bits of practice throughout my life that propelled me forward.

Not being good at something or not understanding something right away is a good sign. It means you’re about to embark on a journey to better yourself.

Take it in stride and don’t be discouraged.

When you come against roadblocks, just remember,

one at a time.
