Do you believe that you would be happier after winning 200 million dollars in the lottery or after being paralyzed from the waist down?

Unless you are a weirdo, you likely picked the former. These two don’t even seem close in comparison, do they? However, there have been scientific studies that have shown that one year after these things happen, both the paraplegic and the multi-millionaire revert back to baseline happiness.

This, among many other fantastic thoughts, are part of the speaker in this video’s point that “You Have No Idea How Wrong You Are.” No matter how “sure” you are of something, you don’t ever fully know something.

Here’s my video assessment:

What I cover:
  • People have been wrong more than they have been right in history.
  • Much of this because there are so many more ways to be wrong than right.
  • Don’t adopt the mindset that, “they got it wrong but now we’re right about everything.” We are prideful to think that we might not also be wrong.
  • This applies to yourself personally as well. You may think you always know whether you right or wrong but sometimes you truly don’t. He discusses more the science behind these in the video.
  • Studies even show that normal people, in general, over-estimate what they believe they can do. In other words, we are too stupid to realize how stupid we are.
  • Is being wrong such a bad thing?
  • Wisest is he who knows he knows nothing ~ Socrates
  • If anyone imagines that he knows something, he does not yet know as he ought to know ~ 1 Corinthians 8:2
  • Knowing how much you don’t know gives you the freedom to be okay with being wrong about some things. We will be so much better contributors to the world if we aren’t afraid of sometimes being wrong. The more times we’re wrong, the higher the chances are of at some point hitting the bullseye
  • My one caveat: Jesus was always right and what is written in the Bible is always right. The Bible is always true and we never have to worry about it being wrong.
